I graduated you the Ontario Veterinary College in 1997 and joined Killarney in 2015. My special area of interests is felines! My favourite thing about Killarney is that the clinic focuses on feline patients, and we can give our clients and patients the extra care and time that is needed to provide excellent service and medical attention. It is a low-stress environment, staffed by people who truly love cats. I am returning to Killarney Cat Hospital after doing 7 years of canine/feline practice, because of my love for feline specialty practice. My first pet was a cat named Misty.
What I love most about my job is the feline practice is both challenging and rewarding. I have always loved cats and feline medicine. I love to learn and am interested in alternative medicine. I love watching my patients thrive and healing their illnesses. I love managing senior cats and ensuring that they have an excellent quality of life in their golden years. Fun fact about me I am the mom of two wonderful boys and have a cat at home named Willie Wonka. I enjoy yoga and hiking in the mountains, as well as travel.
Indoor cats need enrichment and mental stimulation. Enrichment can increase activity (which can help with weight control) and prevent many behavioural issues related to low mental stimulation (things like inappropriate litter box usage, anxiety, aggression and attention-seeking).
With recent changes to restrictions on businesses, we are pleased to advise that effective May 25, 2020 the restrictions on veterinary practices have been lifted. Based on these changes, below are some important updates to our operating policies.
1. WE CAN NOW SEE ALL CASES BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
This includes vaccines, wellness exams, blood work, heartworm testing, spays and neuters, dental services, and more!
2. SAFETY MEASURES TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE
Continue our "closed waiting room" policy to protect our clients and staff. When you arrive, please remain outside the hospital and use your cell phone to call us. We will take a history of your pet's health and discuss any concerns. A staff member will then meet you outside to bring your pet into the hospital for an examination. The Veterinarian will call you to discuss the recommended treatment plan. After your appointment, a staff member will return your pet to you outside, and take care of any needed medications and payment.
Continue the use of credit cards as the preferred payment method.
Continue with curbside pickup of food and medication (unless you have used our online store and are having your order delivered directly to your home). To place an order through our online store, visit our website and click on "Online Store".
3. ONLINE CONSULTATIONS ARE AVAILABLE
If you wish to connect with a veterinarian via message, phone or video, visit our website and follow the "Online Consultation" link.
